Terms and Conditions
These terms govern the use of artmus.art and the acquisition of works through Artmus. They are written to be read rather than skimmed, and to be clear about what we undertake and what we do not.

About Artmus
Artmus is an online gallery based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, dealing in editions and original works by modern and contemporary artists from the Middle East and North Africa. We can be reached at contact@artmus.art.
The works
Every work is described as accurately as we are able: artist, title, year, technique, dimensions, edition, and the presence of a signature. Dimensions refer to the sheet or canvas unless stated otherwise, and are given in centimetres.
The works are original prints and original paintings, most of them decades old. They carry the marks of their age and handling. Where a work has a condition issue that a collector would want to know about, we say so. Where you would like more detail or further photographs before deciding, ask and we will provide them.
Colours on a screen are never exact. Photographs are a guide, not a warranty of tone.
Availability and how a sale is made
A work shown on this website is an invitation to enquire, not a binding offer to sell. Availability is confirmed only when we confirm it to you in writing, since works are sometimes reserved or sold before the website catches up.
A sale is concluded when we issue an invoice and you accept it. Until we have confirmed availability in writing, no contract exists between us.
Prices and payment
Prices are quoted in United States dollars and exclude shipping, insurance, and any import duties or taxes levied in the destination country. Those costs are the responsibility of the buyer, and we will tell you what shipping and insurance will cost before you commit.
Payment is made by bank transfer against our invoice. Title in a work passes to the buyer only when payment has cleared in full.
Shipping and delivery
We pack works to a professional standard and ship worldwide through established fine art carriers. Shipping is quoted per work and per destination, since size, framing, and route all bear on the cost.
Insurance in transit is arranged unless you instruct us otherwise in writing. Delivery timescales are estimates given in good faith and are not guaranteed, as customs clearance in particular is outside our control.
Import duties, taxes, and any customs formalities in the destination country are the responsibility of the buyer. We will supply whatever documentation the carrier or the authorities require.
Returns
All sales are final. Because each work is a specific object chosen after discussion, and because we encourage you to ask every question before buying, we do not offer a change of mind return.
This does not affect two situations in which we will always put things right. If a work is materially different from how we described it, or if it arrives damaged, tell us within seven days of delivery, with photographs, and we will refund the purchase price in full on the return of the work, or agree another remedy with you.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Authenticity and provenance
Every work we sell is offered as authentic and is researched before it is listed. We provide the provenance we hold and, where one exists, the accompanying documentation.
If a work sold by Artmus is subsequently shown, by a recognised authority on the artist, not to be authentic, we will refund the purchase price in full on the return of the work. This undertaking is given to the original buyer and is not limited in time.
Copyright
Copyright in the works remains with the artists and their estates. Buying a work transfers ownership of the physical object, not the right to reproduce the image.
The text, photographs, and design of this website belong to Artmus or are used with permission. Please do not reproduce them commercially without asking us first.
Liability
We take care that the information on this website is accurate, but we do not warrant that it is free of error or that the site will always be available. Our liability in connection with any work is limited to the price paid for it.
Nothing here excludes liability for fraud or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Questions about any of this are welcome. Write to contact@artmus.art.
